The Miss Kansas' Outstanding Teen pageant is a sister program to the Miss Kansas and Miss America Organization. The Miss America Organization is still the largest provider of scholarships and opportunities to young women worldwide! The four key values we hold are Style, Service, Scholarship and Success. Miss America's national platform is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and we as contestants host benefit events and raise money for them as well as our personal platforms. Mine is called 'Broken Chains, Hope Remains: End Sex Trafficking,' which you can read more about on my platform page.
I am very open about my faith in Jesus Christ, and this means I am called to love everyone despite their race, gender, age, culture, and religious beliefs. That being said, I want to be relatable to everyone and love them the same even if their beliefs do not match up with mine. One of my goals as an individual and the next Miss Kansas' Outstanding Teen is to be approachable and embrace everyone with open arms.
Ultimately, my goal is to develop life skills, grow my confidence, gain new experiences and opportunities, and be a part of something bigger than myself -- remembering I am a princess because I am a daughter of the King, not because of the crown on my head!
I am incredibly proud to be a part of this family and cannot wait to see what the future holds for me and my pageant sisters in the Miss Kansas' Outstanding Teen Class of 2016.
